Sellers: What can I sell?


We are currently selling::

  • Baby and children's pre-loved clothing

  • Shoes - all types, including sport and dance shoes

  • Uniforms - dance, school, sports, etc.

  • Costume - fancy dress clothing

  • Nursery equipment - cots, decorative items, change tables, blankets, baby carrier (front packs) etc.

  • Prams - all shapes and sizes welcome

  • Sporting Equipment - skies, ski boots, bikes, scooters, balance bikes

If you have an item to sell that does not fit into the above categories, still get in touch as we may be able to help or possibly create a new category.

We try to keep the inventory in-season or close to the next season. We will only list items that we think are likely to sell. We ask that all clothing is delivered to us washed and ready for a new home.




Sellers: What does this service cost me?


It is free to list on Little Trading Post.

You are only charged a service fee when your item is sold.

Our service fee is 30% of the final sale price, with a minimum of $4 per item.

You can sell items individually or as a bundle. If you sell items as a bundle, it is treated as one sale and only charged one service fee.

All fees are in NZ dollars.




Sellers: Where is the item I am selling kept?


Clothing and shoes will be kept with us in a safe, indoor area referred to as our Store Depot.

By having the items at Little Trading Post means we can arrange collection and viewings on your behalf.

If you prefer an item stays at home with you, please get in touch as we may still be able to assist.

All larger items such as sporting equipment and nursery furniture are to stay at home with you. We will liaise via email to collect photos, descriptions and so on.




Buyers: How do I collect the item I have purchased?


If you are based in Queenstown, we will be in touch to arrange a time to collect your items. In some cases, we can drop off the item to you.

If you are based elsewhere, we will pop it into the post right away and send you the tracking.




Buyers: Can you ship the item to me?


Sure. Just let us know address and we can arrange shipment. Postage will be at the buyers cost.




Sellers: When do I get paid?


We will pay our sellers on the 15th and 28th of each month directly into your bank account.




Buyers: Can I view an item before purchase?


If you are based in Queenstown, sure absolutely. Just send us an email and we will arrange a time and place. If you are based elsewhere, a viewing might be a bit tricky. We are happy to send additional photos or answer any questions.




Buyers: What is your returns policy?


If you decide at the time of collection that the item is not right for you that is absolutely fine. The item will simply be returned to our inventory and any funds paid will be reimbursed. If you take the item home, then there are no refunds.




Buyers: The item I purchased is now not available. Why?


In majority of cases, the sellers items are stored at the Little Trading Post store depot. This means that the item should be available.

However... for larger items such as sporting equipment, nursery furniture, prams, etc., these items are kept with the seller and not in our depot.

Once one of these items is sold, we will contact the seller immediately to let them know. As we do not store the item, the seller may have donated or sold the item elsewhere. As part of our terms we do ask the seller to let us know if the item is no longer available so we can remove it from our inventory. However, in some cases the item may be sold before the seller has informed us. If payment has been made, you will be reimbursed immediately.




Buyers: How do I pay?


At this stage, payment is via direct deposit or cash on collection. When you purchase an item through the website, our bank account details will automatically be provided to you.




Sellers: The item I am selling is no longer listed. Why?


All items have a 'shelf life.'

If your item has been listed for a few months and has not sold or is now out of season, it will be removed from the site.

For example, snow skis are unlikely to sell in the Summer months.

If this happens, we will be in contact with you. We will ask if you would like to collect your items or if you would like us to donate them to a chairty.




Buyers: Is the clothing washed?


When clothing is delivered to our store depot, we request that it has been washed and ready for a new home.




Sellers: Where and when can I drop off items?


When you get in contact, we will make a plan.

Generally, shoes & clothing are dropped here at our Lake Hayes Estate address, however in some cases we are able to met you somewhere to collect.

We try to make it as easy as possible.




Seller: I am not in Queenstown, can I still sell?


Sure, no problem. Send me an email and we can make a plan.
